Looking for something cool & different to do this weekend?

A high-energy bar focused around live music, dancing, and a nightlife experience like none other.

Howl is an awesome place for people that like to go out every Friday night and people who like to go out on a Friday night once every 6 months. It's like a show, and it's different every single time you go so it's always entertaining.

There is a stage in the middle of the room, up against the wall, with two piano's and sometimes other small/random instruments. Two 'dueling' performers play covers, medleys, college fight songs, or sometimes 'original' pieces all night for your entertainment. They place current music, and classics, will celebrate birthdays or anniversaries and everyone is cheering, and singing along. There's a small dance floor in front of the stage, for those who love to dance anywhere, or the few grimacing songs where they like to pull people from the audience and 'humiliate' them (ie birthday, bachelor/ettes, etc.). You can also put in song-requests, but the place gets crowded so don't hold your breath.

There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind:
*There is a $7.00 cover to keep in mind
*The bar is wedged on a corner next to two other bars, so parking is a bit limited (as are 90% of the bars in mid-town)
* It is a very popular place with limited tables/seats, so if you don't get there roughly before 9:30-10:00, you may find yourself standing the entire night
*There's not any food in the establishment, but often times people will order food delivered to the bar, such as Gotham Pizza which is about 2 blocks away
They offer a nice 'fish bowl' drink, that is dangerous if you're drinking alone! The drinks are moderately priced, and they're pretty generous with the alcohol.
I believe it's definitely something everyone should try once. It's different from your typical bar-scene, and since there is an attraction constantly occurring on stage, it's hard to get dull or bored.
