NFL Business Connect Seeks Local Help

NFL Business Connect, a partnership between the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee and the National Football League, launched its effort to line up eligible businesses from the 11-county region with a seminar at the George R. Brown Convention Center.

The competitive program targets certified businesses that are owned or at least 51 percent run by women, minorities, disabled veterans and gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender people.

"The NFL really believes in giving the opportunities to businesses that might not necessarily have marketing dollars or avenues to be able to connect the dots with vendors and contractors," said Sallie Sargent, president and CEO of the Houston host committee.

Eligible businesses can compete for bids to help vendors and contractors run the event and related activities.
