Last Tuesday, on the eve of the grand opening of leading lifestyle brand and premiere fitness club Equinox in the River Oaks District, Houston’s most prominent influencers joined Equinox’s company leaders for an evening of merriment and fine dining at the newly-opened venue, The Dunlavy. Equinox’s CEO Harvey Spevak and NFL legend and native Houstonian Michael Strahan hosted elite athletes, including Houston Texans Brian and wife Megan Cushing, Jonathan and wife Amanda Weeks, and veterans Chester Pitts and Wade and Rita Davis, the leaders of the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee, including Chairman Ric and wife Mo Campo and President and CEO Sallie Sargent. A number of local Houston celebrities were also in attendance, including PaperCity Founder Becca Cason Thrash, Philanthropist Carolyn Farb, and American actor Lee and former model Faith Majors.
With cocktails in hand and subtle house music provided by DJ Paul Paredes, guests mingled with Equinox President Sarah Robb O’Hagan and regional and local Equinox talent beneath shimmering chandeliers, before being seated at elegant tables with personalized linens embroidered with each guests’ initials. The dinner was presented by Houston’s own Clark Cooper Concepts and included entrees of tender Filet Mignon, Pesce en Cartoccio, and Braised Lamb Shank, complemented by an open bar and attentive wait staff.
As the evening concluded, guests were presented with Equinox-branded gift bags, including a signed copy of Michael Strahan’s new book Wake Up Happy, a complimentary one-month membership to Equinox River Oaks, Kiehl’s Since 1851 beauty products, and lululemon accessories. This morning, Michael Strahan shared photos of the grand event on Live With Kelly and Michael, bringing national attention to Equinox River Oaks on the morning of its official debut in Houston.
