Workshop Houston: Small Hands Big Dreams

Workshop Houston is an adolescent society community center where education is the means to change their lives. They work primarily with tender age pupils, that face many changes and challenges growing up. Workshop Houston accommodates the students with programs to advance their creative skill-building, academic support, individualized projects, mentoring, academic preparation, and service-based internships, that are based out of four workshops. Style, Beat, Scholar, and Chopper Shop are the workstations the students can choose from to work in.

Workshop Houston has a wide variety of volunteer opportunities as well. Either regularly volunteering as a tutor or program assistant in the shop, or one-time group projects like block clean-ups to construction projects. Workshop Houston’s mission is to provide youth with creative, technical and educational resources. The programs attract youth on their own terms and give them a sense of ownership over their educational experience, while challenging them to develop academic, creative and technical skills.

Teaming up with Warehouse Live Workshop Houston put on an event there to raise awareness in the city, where the featured local acts supporting the cause. If you're interested in volunteering with the Workshop Houston contact 713-807-7911 or email contact@workshophouston.org.
