Buff Burger Reinvents Simplicity For The American Burger

There’s an art to making a great hamburger that a lot of times gets mired in complexity. Because it’s such a readily customizable dish, there’s a tendency to err on the fundamental ideology of more being merrier----and as a result, the final outcome is less burger, more Pimp My Ride project.

Such is not the case with BuffBurger. There is an array of options for consumption at your disposal, sure----but at it’s the five-month old grill likes to focus on simple ingredients that work together naturally.

“If you just take really good, quality products, and don’t really mess with them, it makes a really good item”, co-owner Sara Burden posits.

Inspired by her husband, Paul “Buff” Burden’s London roots and passion for culinary exploits, the pair set out on a journey to bring to life a burger joint that would not only set itself apart in a heavily-crowded genre, but do so using local, homegrown ingredients from right here in Houston. Every component of any dish you eat at BuffBurger, with the exception of ketchup and mustard, is an in-house product. And soon even those items might become so, as well.

The commitment to the freshest ingredients possible definitely shows in the taste. BuffBurger’s “Texan”, one of their more popular offerings, features goodies you might expect apropos, of its name----savory Compart bacon, deep-fried crispy onions, Yellow Rose barbecue sauce----all of it amalgamates into delectable bites of brilliance that will not only fill you up, but save you the trouble of scraping up any spare parts from your plate. The burger fits neatly in your hand with little, if any fuss at all. Add an order of Parmesan Truffle Fries into the mix, and you’ll be hard-pressed not to consider this one of your favorite burger spots in the city.
