Popular Height's music venue Fitzgerald's will undergo renovations that will improve some of the technical and logistical features of the nearly 100-year-old building.
The venue, located at 2706 White Oak Drive, will be completely gutted and renovated once the current tenant leaves, CultureMap reported.
Improvements will include remodeled bathrooms, a new second-story balcony that will wrap around the building, a better air-conditioning system, upgraded PA systems and an industrial elevator for bands to haul equipment upstairs.
The venue also plans to tear down several of the adjacent homes and will use the space for additional parking. There also are plans to build a beer garden.
An opening date and celebratory concert is set for Oct. 3. The artists have not yet been announced.
Renovations will begin after final show on Aug. 29.
