What: Established in 2003, HRW is a fun-filled dining event benefiting the Houston Food Bank. Held simultaneously in restaurants in the greater Houston area, Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest single annual fundraiser for America's largest food bank. This annual event is held in August.

What: The Houston Heights invites community members and art lovers to wear white linen, explore the neighborhood, and celebrate their annual White Linen Night.
Billed as “sultry, steamy, exotic and artfully provocative,” the evening offers art, entertainment, shopping, dining, signature drinks from eclectic bars and white linen fashion.
White Linen Night banners will identify participating shops, restaurants, and galleries, scattered throughout the Heights, from 19th Street, Studewood and Yale to Heights Blvd., White Oak and Washington.
With crowds expected to be well over 50,000 this year, organizers have focused on expanding the staging areas for the event activities to truly make it a neighborhood-wide celebration. In addition to the original 19th Street locale, many of the art, music, fashion and exhibition offerings will also be happening on White Oak in the heart of the neighborhood.

What: A professional project of the University of Houston. It's a two-week event where you can catch performances of Shakespeare's Macbeth and The Merchant of Venice depending on the night.
This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.. If tickets remain at 1 p.m., the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill above the stage.

What: The Houston Latin Fest "festival of All Latinos." Celebrating the legacy of North, Central, South America and the Caribbean, with international and local artists, folk groups, typical food, craft vendors and more.
What: This event is free and open to the public for ages 21+. Attendance is first come first served and limited to capacity. However, a limited number of tickets will also be offered for $25. 100% of the proceeds from those ticket sales will go to charity. Proceeds will benefit the Houston Food Bank.
The Lone Star Beer Texas Heritage Festival will feature some of the best music of Texas with performances by the Old 97’s, alt-country favorites from Dallas who released their tenth studio album, Most Messed Up, in 2014. Also set to play are Austin’s sons of psychedelic rock The Black Angels; Austin-based Grammy Award-winning Latin funk orchestra Grupo Fantasma, who have performed with everyone from Prince and Maceo Parker to Spoon and Daniel Johnston; Austin honky-tonk legend Dale Watson; and soul singer and Corpus Christi native LaTasha Lee & The BlackTies.
