The family-owned comfort food destination known for its fried chicken and Champagne has released a new menu with seasonal dishes for the summer. These small plates focus on lighter, fresher flavors perfect for the Houston summer heat.
Highlights from the new seasonal menu that are sure to become instant favorites this season include:
Bubbling Bleu Cheese & Fig Dip - Cream cheese base infused with bleu cheese, topped with balsamic-macerated figs served with Granny Smith apples and grilled sourdough on the side.
Spicy Coconut Quail ‘Wings’(Rosé du Patron )- These quail wings are some of the most tasty fried “chicken” I have ever tasted, made with coconut curry, served with a sambal honey, lime, and fresh herbs. The only downside to this appetizer is that quails aren’t the size of chickens and their wings are much more petite, so you’ll have to enjoy this item in its small, summer-sized serving while it lasts.
Confit Picnic Ribs(Antico Fregio Chianti) - St. Louis spare ribs, chipotle BBQ sauce, loaded cowboy potatoes and poblano cream-style corn.
Diver Scallops(Argam Verdejo) - Seared scallops, agave watermelon-mango salad, plantain cake and arbor gastrique.
Brussel Sprouts (Chez Jerome Colombard)- No lie, these are the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had in my life. To believe me, you have to have just a little bit of faith, like the faith of a mustard seed. The tangy mustard and bold chunks of ham will have you coming back for more of this generous portion and have you writing home to Mom asking her why she made you endure her bland Brussels sprouts for so long.
All jokes aside, Stop by Max’s Fairview and try some of these new seasonal plates & wines, you won’t be disappointed.
