Peska Seafood Culture's Brunch: Mixing The Traditional & Non-Traditional

Looking for a new brunch favorite that has a unique menu?

The Galleria area's Peska Seafood Culture presents an aura to the city that is truly all its own. Taking favors and influences from all corners of the globe, Peska calls upon the essence of the Acapulco seafood market La Trainera, which is very much its forefather conceptually, featuring a raw bar that offers everything from fresh peel-and-eat shrimp, to more peculiar tastes like sea urchin.

The fish market-and-restaurant's relatively new brunch menu, however, brings an entirely different dynamic into the fold. It's here where the brilliance of Omar Pereney, Peska's wunderkind executive chef barely old enough to buy drinks in his own restaurant, really shines. Omar's brunch menu is rife with familiar Mexican cuisine reimagined in delicious new ways.

His “Ceviche Station”, for instance, features a trifecta of takes on a traditional staple, each as distinct in flavor and ingenuity as the next.

There are a few curveballs, as well. The Black Fideau finds Spanish seafood pasta flavored heavily with squid ink, allowing the dish to not only live up to its name, but impress upon its consumer a flavor palette they may have yet to discover.

For drinks, be sure to visit head bartender Colton Grivetti, an esteemed professional who is everything a bartender should be --- friendly, funny and knowledgeable, and of course, can craft a mean cocktail.

Easily one of the freshest dining experiences the city can offer, Peska is definitely a place you'll want to check out sooner than later.
